Meldon reservoir
Another sunny day and I was out with a friend to visit Meldon Reservoir and Quarry. Our landscape group had visited it a few weeks ago but neither of us could make the trip so today was the day. We started by taking look at the reservoir where the full extent of the summer drought can be seen in extras. From here we attempted a direct route from the carpark to Meldon Quarry but the narrow path soon disappeared so we retraced our steps and headed towards the viaduct which is now a bicycle and walk route. The views were good and as we descended from the structure we spent some time taking various shots of the support structures. From here we wandered into the quarry area where many people and families were enjoying the sun and paddling in various parts of the stream. We managed a more direct walk back crossing the stream and heading towards the reservoir. It was then a quick climb up the steps at the side of the reservoir to the top and back to the carpark. Todays blip was taken of the reservoir structure as we climbed back up.
A good days outing.
