On the square
It is the busiest weekend in the village and everyone was out in the square last night. The walkers finished their ascent of the mountain and were back in the square in the evening. It is the main race tomorrow. We have friends staying who are doing a changeover on the rental of their house so they needed a bed for the night. They kindly took us out for a meal and we listened to the music on offer. I played my tennis match in the morning and unsurprisingly lost against a higher ranked player. I spent the rest of the morning spectating and discussing the future of our club with members of two local clubs. We barely have enough adult players to be viable. We had ten for ringing practice in the afternoon. A lot of work is being done to prepare for next weeks exhibition and the arrival of the ringers from Saint Paul’s cathedral.
