Between fen and mountains

Hanging basket

I heard today of the introduction of hosepipe bans in parts of England and Wales. On the French news, I saw that one commune is giving away all its plants to residents as they are not being watered and are dying. Ours are still being watered daily by the water truck but I wonder for how long. Today I have had a quiet day after yesterday's exertions and in preparation for my next match tomorrow morning. I went down for my physio with Constantin who, with his strong hands, does wonders for my back. He has been increasing my exercises and today also put me on a harder cycling programme. He told me he will be resting tomorrow and taking a hammam and jacuzzi at the hot springs up the valley before taking part in the gruelling, international Canigou mountain race on Sunday -  34 kilometres and 2,100 metres of ascent. The winner does it in about three hours which is mind boggling.
