A Sunday in London
With a whole week in London ahead of us we were quite chilled regarding our itinerary for today. We ended up effectively doing a long hike around London so we saw quite a lot. This picture was taken on Millennium Bridge.
First, we walked to the British Museum, but there were really long queues to get in. So we went to Russell Square to sit on a bench and decide what to do instead. We then walked to St Paul's Cathedral Gardens and relaxed there for a while (we have been there before). Then over Millennium Bridge and into the Tate Modern to look around. Orla and Conor were both quite taken by the gallery. There's some really weird stuff in there!
After the Tate we headed East along Bankside and had an early dinner in Pizza Express. We discussed possibly walking all the way back from there but in the end got a water taxi to Embankment and then the tube up the Northern Line to Goodge St.
We were back in time to see the second half on the Women's Euro 2022 Final. It went to extra time and I was fully expecting another disappointing loss on penalties but the lionesses pulled through and became the first England football team to win a major tournament since 1966! The BT Tower next to where we are staying lit up with congratulations for them.
