Fitzroy Square

We have arrived in London for our week staying in this airbnb here in Fitzroy Square. We were expecting a lot of traffic due to the train strike today - our original plan was to come down on the train. In the event, the M1 wasn't too bad at all. We stopped for a picnic lunch in a nice town just of the motorway called Lutterworth, which happens to be where Frank Whittle developed the first ever jet engine!

It was exciting driving into London. It's four years since our last visit. Conor helped getting all the stuff up from the car to the apartment, opening doors and hailing the lift whilst Orla looked at giant pile of books left in their bedroom - it is a proper airbnb, someone's actual home!

Later, Mum showed us round Marylebone and the entrance to her office in Mortimer House. We strolled around for about an hour, taking in the atmosphere of the city and the chatter from the road side restaurants.
