Day 9 Vienna to Bratislava

44 miles, very long and straight ride along flood banks with a tail wind. Now in our 3rd country - Slovakia! We cycled on lots of different cycling infrastructure- why is Britain so poor at this. We stopped for a morning coffee at a cycle café (Radlertreff) where the local cyclists were all enjoying morning beers!!. Then on to the border just 5 miles before Bratislava. You can still see old communist fortifications.  Unfortunately there was no nice border sign, just a boring one on the main road.
Bratislava is lovely,  slightly crumbling round the edges and busy with tourists. It’s 2 beers for the price of 1 (plus change) compared with Austria.
