Hooked

Off from Granton up river to Port Edgar at 8am for the boat was getting measured up by those nice people at the Sail Doctor's for a stack pack. A gentle breeze took us up there in exactly two hours, sailing all the way, although impatience got  the better of me on the way back and rather than beat into a strengthening wind we motor-sailed it.
Later, a party at a tennis club on the south side, as it was the brer-in-law’s 70th. We circulated as requested for a while before sitting for a quiz. A quiz all about the modest birthday boy himself, which we comfortably won. No surprise there as our team included his wife, his sister and his eldest son. Even I got one correct. Yep, I think we all knew that he’d beaten Alan Wells (the 1980 Olympic gold medallist) in the school finals. I’m not sure  if I did a similar quiz for my 70th that I’d be able to have comparable questions. I did run into the side of a bus stop once. Which bus stop was it though? There’s a good question.
