BBQ on the beach

I was meant to be on Mother shepherding duty back from Edinburgh but as she is staying there longer because of the heat i didn’t have any meetings end of day so we seized the moment at 4pm and went to West Wittering beach.  We arrived at an hour after high tide so it was wonderful to watch the sea go out and more and more clean damp sand be revealed. It was packed of course but never felt too busy and there was a lot of fun in people watching.  A group of young Indians playing volleyball, some parading as if they were in Ravenna. Lots more equipment than we used to have when we went there as children, paddle boards and all the sunshine tents.  We were left to fry! 

We didn’t get as hot as forecast but London was obviously baking…
