Inside da Windmill

A fine cloudy morning, and then a few showers in the afternoon.  A windy evening, but dry and the sun trying to get out.

Up early, and peerie Brian headed out to sea fishing, came back later with haddocks and cod.  Me and Sammy were alone on the isle, and headed for a walk around the the whole island. Back to the house, and tourists arrived by canoes.  Mostly been inside reading this afternoon, but did get Sammy down to the beach.  Walkies up to the hills to get a phone signal, and then a quiet night by the fire.

A windy night like tonight, the old windmill is a good shelter with a phone signal.  This is Shetland's only known windmill from days past.  With no running water on the island, it was built to grind grain.  I'm not sure what was wrong with the design, but due to it's insufficiency, the idea was quickly abandoned.  It still makes a fine landmark, and can be seen from afar.  Taken on the highest point, South Havera.
