Portobello Beach Edinburgh Day 239
While the south of Britain basks in sub Mediterranean temperatures, again, we north Britons have to make do with a monochrome drizzle and an unhelpful breeze making it feel a wee bit chilly. The low tide seems to attract even more dogs and their walkers than usual. I keep my distance as you can see from this blip! The industrial backdrop is the distant vista of Leith Docks with the Lothian Regional Transport Seafield Bus Depot on the left. The open top tour buses are always being spruced up in the morning for their lucrative "hop on hop off " tours around the city. These tours are not popular with the residents of the New Town if they are unlucky enough to live on one of the routes - especially those near Robert Louis Stevenson's home and the adjacent Queen Street Gardens' ornamental lake .with tiny island. purported to be RLS's inspiration for Treasure Island.
