Shiny!
Shower surround at Manchester was giving pause for thought yesterday.
We have a modern shower fitting that we have no idea how to remove, and we need to put a new shower surround in place. We've kinda decided on a tile surround (as it's easier and cheaper than the alternatives - unless we started using wall board (which would be horrible), but then there are the plumbing fixtures in the wall - mainly the water mixer, the bathtub spout and the shower spout.
So came up with an idea that I carefully ran past the wife....use some of the mesh back tile panels we been using which have hundreds of parts, cut the bits out we don't need, and then make a design that is 1 foot wide that runs top to bottom where the fixtures will be. That means we don't have to cut large sections, and leaves a feature.
Amazingly she agreed. And today whilst in Lowes we found this tile, a darkish slate color with bits of glass. Not expensive either, $5 per sheet for 4 sheets. It'll add a nice feature to the bathroom overall, and cut down an awful lot of work on Friday when we do the tile work.
Only problem is that we can't use it for the kitchen as it's far too expensive.
The bathroom also has a new window! Yay. Had an off day, but it was nice to still have progress with Spiderman working on the property.
