Snuggle cat

Restless and unable to sleep, I woke up at the crack of dawn this morning and decided to go for a long run. Every morning I make it a habit to open up my Tonglen book, a book of Buddhist teachings a good friend passed on to me as a gift. Small quotes and commentaries to think and meditate on throughout the day. Silencing my mind sitting on Heathers couch her cat Fig jumped up and wanted some kitty love.

Meowing and purring for attention I couldn't help succumbing to a long petting-snuggle fest. Stilling my mind before stepping out to greet the morning, meditating to the rhythm of deep lazy purrs from the fur ball sprawled on my lap. A good beginning to a productive day, exploring around town, running errands, and catching up with old friends.
