Shetland Pride

A cloudy start with that mist still hanging about.  It soon cleared, and mostly a beautiful sunny day, warm too.

Another early shift in the airport today.  The day started good, with all flights making it in and out, apart from our Kirkwall/Inverness, which caused a few problems, but we made it through.  Nipped by Laura's on my way home.  Off out with friends tonight.

Today celebrates the first ever Shetland Pride, celebrating equality, diversity and inclusion.  Sadly I missed the daytime march and events, but made it out tonight to party with everyone.  By the sounds of it, it's been a huge success, with over 3,000 people attending, nearly as big as Up Helly Aa! We've had many visitors from far away, as well as locals joining in the party.  Tonight is a night of various music bands, stand up comedians and even drag queens, which much be a first in Shetland too.  Great to see so many people loving life and what a fantasticatmosphere.  Loving the Shetland pony unicorn.  A drag show in Islesburgh Centre, Lerwick.
