Second Thoughts

It didn't take the osprey long to figure out that the branch he was aiming for was not going to hold him.  He regained his dignity and moved on to a sturdier tree branch.

In the "There Is Hope For Humanity After All" category, a story on the local news today reported a drama on the I-5 freeway between Seattle and Bellingham.  Somehow a baby cow  (I'm sure they meant calf) ended up trapped in the center median of the freeway.  Believe it or not, traffic was re-routed and the freeway was shut down (very close to rush hour too) until they could wrangle the poor thing out of danger.  And, to make it even better, they used the old fashioned method of wrangling with a cowboy on a horse.  Apparently, the poor little critter had been wandering local roads for nearly two days before it ended up on the freeway.
That was a feel-good story for the books.
