Snakes and Ladders

The temperature soared over 40 degrees in the conservatory today. It hovered around 30 in our garden. It was a lovely taste of a Mediterranean holiday without any of the current hassle of trying to get there!

Our 9 year old was in danger of overheating when he came home from school. He just wanted to play snakes and ladders in the cool shade of the trees in our garden.

As that ageless game progressed we were distracted by a very large RAF tanker heading back to its Brize Norton base. On checking its route it had been patrolling the Russian border with Scandinavia.

There’s a great deal more going on in this Russian war in Ukraine than we are being told.

Plenty of snakes and ladders to be negotiated by all sides before this war is over, I fear.
