Not what you expect.

U3A this morning, a lecture on the Red Arrows!!!

I’m getting used to the speakers having an obscure take on their subject. He is Nigel MacKnight, author, speed boat driver, back seat occupant of a Red Arrow hawk many years ago!!!

He was very interesting, had some cracking pictures from above of the hawks in formation over Scampton Airfield. I could see the house that we used to live in when first married.

This picture that I’ve blipped looks a bit like Top Gun, must get ourselves into gear and go to see the film.

The lady sitting in front of me had a fairly recent scar on her neck, probably a couple of months old, which had some suture material sticking out. I deliberated whist we sat there for an hour listing to the speaker, then decided that I had to tactfully say something.

To cut a long story short. She wasn’t aware of its presence, but knew that the scar was irregular and tender. She lives alone so no one to ask to check it out and couldn’t see it in the mirror. I had taken a picture whilst snapping from the big screen for my blip, so that I could let her see it. I’m always aware that people may not take kindly to conversations with strange old retired nurses like me, but she was most grateful and we worked out what she needs to do next. We both plan to go to the meeting next month, so she will let me know how she’s got on.

The old boy who fell at table tennis and fractured his femur, again, was there in a wheelchair. Looking frail, but chirpy!!!

The Flying Scotsman is complete!! I will blip it on a quieter day.

The weird boat in extras is on the canal, may have moved on by tomorrow so I’ve included it. It looks like the closed lifeboat style from a cargo ship. Might be wrong :0(

It is a warm, pleasant day, with a promise of a steaming hot one tomorrow!!!
