Luxuriating . . .

. . . in long grass.

We have two newcomers into the field next to our garden. We haven’t seen much of them as they seem to prefer the further end of the field. I spotted them for the first time today

The photo does show the difference, something I think I point out each year, between a field that is now barren because it has been so closely cropped by sheep that nothing can grow, and a field, which is not just full of buttercups, but lots of other stuff as well.

I won’t go on about George Monbiot and over grazing, but I do agree with him, although I think his answers are too extreme to be viable.
