Still hot

I am not at all happy with these temperatures. I managed some bits of cleaning this morning, lots of washing done and out on the line - all dried so quickly.

Then I had had enough and hid indoors - too hot for sewing or computer stuff, so reading and puzzling it is. The jigsaw is one I’ve had a while, probably got it after we had seen the wonderful Hokusai exhibition in London several years ago. It is very tricky, but I have done it before so it must be possible!

The book is a new one from Malaysian author Tan Twan Eng. I loved his previous book (ten years ago!). ‘The Garden of Evening Mists’ - a beautiful book. I read it when it first came out and then our village book group chose it to read so I read it again. It was one of the few books that we all agreed on - everyone loved it. So I am looking forward to reading this new one. I was booked to listen to the author at Hay and I have now heard the talk via Hayplayer - such a good talk, he was witty, modest and highly entertaining.
