Girlie Shopping Day

Sabrina, myself and the girls went to the Forte Shopping Centre. Amelia and Lucy had some money of their own and Amelia needed sunglasses which she found in M&S. We were looking at summer clothes for them but Lucy got fed up, Sabrina knew I was wanting to go to Waterstones as I had national book tokens, so suggested Lucy go with me. That made her happy and I said she could sit at the table in the children’s section and look at some books while I went down to the grown up’s section. One book I got was the new David Walliam’s book ‘World’s Worst Pets’. Amelia has been wanting it for a while but Lucy said she would like it so I suggested she choose a different one so they could swap but she was adamant this was the one so I said they’d have to share it as I wouldn’t buy 2 books the same. They were both happy with that :-)  

I had arranged to meet Marc in the afternoon in Costa and Frank said he’d come for a while too. Just before we went my knee swelled up for no apparent reason - as usual. We still met Marc but I had to use Frank as support. I didn’t want to disappoint him and I know he wouldn’t have minded if I didn’t come but he has been quite stressed recently as he has been offered a flat and has to move from temporary accommodation. It will be good once he’s made the move and got settled.

When we got back to Sabrina’s she gave me some prescription ibuprofen gel and a bandage. There’ll be no ballet for me on Wednesday!

That Bloomin’ Knee!

I’ve gone and done it again
but don’t ask me how
I’ve done that bloomin’ knee in
and I’ve got my leg up now.
It all swelled up suddenly,
I was only standing there,
now I’ll have to wait days and
struggle up and down the stairs.
I can limp my way up them,
come down them on my bum
the rest o’ the time I’m stuck
but I won’t let it make me glum,
I’ve the paper and books to read 
some knitting and writing to do
I’ll be waited on hand and foot
Well now, that is nothing new!

Lucy has been showing me her dances for the ballet and tap she’s learning for the summer extravaganza. Such a good wee mover. She never stops dancing! 
Amelia was quite tired today after her 2 day ice skating course. She gets a bit emotional when she’s tired. 

The weather has been lovely but still with a coolness about it.

Book and bedtime now.
