Two for the price of one!
Our visitors have gone off for the day to visit relatives. We were going to pop down to see Uncle A, but he is inundated with visitors today, so we went for a wander into town instead. Didn't get very far, as we paused to read the menu on our one of our favourite restaurants, and before we knew it, we were seated upstairs, with a view of the castle and a glass of wine in our hands. A delicious lunch was consumed before a wander back through the Meadows.
Not before I had my blip, though. I had often noticed this window, with a poster of a handsome hunk who apparently eats these sandwiches to train for the Olympics. One time on the bus, I noted a handsome hunk sitting inside and just to the side of the poster, eating a foot long sandwich, thought it would make a good blip, and almost leapt off the bus. Only I can't really leap anywhere, and so the moment passed.
But today as we walked by, who should be sitting just there, but a handsome hunk, eating an Olympic sandwich. I paused and watched for a moment, plucking up courage brass neck to point to my camera and then to him. He took a big bite and then acted as if his mouth was on fire. No idea what was in it, but it certainly took him by surprise. I waited till he'd finished gasping and coughing and flapping his hands, and then did my pointing to my camera bit. He gave a big smile because he knew I'd been watching his performance. Blip.
The reflections are really complicated, and rather distracting, showing not only the buildings opposite, but also the lights inside. And there was no way I'd not be in it too. But I still thought it was worth it.
