Sunday: Lakeside

Very excitingly, we’ve been on a trip out of Ottawa today.  The boys, T&K, picked us up and we drove over to Quebec where we had a fabulous day.

Bizarrely, having never heard of McKenzie King until a few days ago, we found ourselves at his former estate, which is just outside Chelsea, in Quebec.  It was in a lovely spot and the cottages are pretty much as they were In his time.  

We then drove to Wakefield, where we had a nice patio lunch.  K and I actually visited Wakefield at Easter but the boys were so excited to take us there that we acted in a very British manner and pretended we were seeing it for the very first time.

Today was a real tonic.  We’d forgotten how great it was to get out of the city and be back in nature.
