Brave....or Stupid?

Yes we entered the water at 7.00 this morning. There were far more that turned up than I thought there would be. Boy was it cold. There was a frost on the decking where we have to walk to get into the lake. It was a beautiful morning though and the sun was shining. The lake looked lovely. I'm not sure how far I swam but I was in for an hour. A few of us who are considered the faster ones had to do a bit more than others and stay in a bit longer!

My hands and feet were bright red when I got out. It's a strange feeling when you get out it feels like you are drunk! Very disorientated. It takes me a while to pull myself together. For the first time we had hot showers. Last year we didn't even have changing facilities we just had to get on with it out in the open. The shower was very welcoming I have to say. Only problem was when we started to thaw out the pain in my hands and feet were unbearable. Really not nice. I do wonder why I do this kind of thing sometimes.

I went straight on to work where I was in the water for most of the day....a little warmer though. Now I'm home I'm just about to get in the bath...I should have been born a mermaid!
