The sea was very rough beyond the rocks and Fidra but the rocks and island and the north east aspect meant that the water was sheltered from the strong south westerly wind this morning.   Eiders were swimming off shore and gannets were diving at great speed for fish.   A swallow flew along the beach but the sand martins don’t appear to have nested in their holes in the sand dunes.
