Prom Time
The forecast was quite accurate, unfortunately. Our high was 93°F and at 6:30 pm, it is still 90° out there. Parker had a lacrosse tournament in the same town as last weekend (1.5 hours from home). Since it is Saturday, the RV store that was only five miles from the field was open and we picked up our ladder before his game. Thinking he was having two games back to back during the lunch hour, we grabbed a couple subs. He scored the first goal for his team but was overcome by the heat and played sparingly after that. They lost 7-3. The team that we were scheduled to play next, forfeited, so we got to leave early. I made contact with a fellow blipper on the way home and we plan to meet tomorrow at Brooklyn’s game. How exciting. Tonight is prom for Skylar’s school so I joined her family for pictures. Her boyfriend’s best friend is now her best friend’s boyfriend (did you get that) so the picture shoot was a blast with all the families. She is almost a senior and will soon be propelled out of our family cocoon. I pray every day that all my grands obtained a solid Christian foundation to take into adulthood. I got to Mass a few minutes before it began. Hubby will watch it on TV tomorrow. Quarantine ends Monday and we don’t expect he was infected. Stay cool if you are having a heat wave; stay warm if you have snow and enjoy the rest of your weekend. Thanks for stopping by. I heard a radio newscaster describe the devastation in some Ukrainian cities. So unnecessary. How can the soldiers/Putin sleep at night? “A granddaughter is God’s way of reaching your heart with laughter, blessing your life with happiness, and filling your world with love.” — Unknown
