Amandine's Plot Treize

Nice little harvest

This year's the best asparagus harvest I've had since I planted them but I'm a bit worried some crowns might have died as there are quite a few gaps in the beds.

The purple ones come later - I know I worry each year and then they start coming up when I've given hope of harvesting a purple asparagus. This year I've already had a few purple ones but it's still mostly green ones I'm harvesting.

The globe artichokes are very disappointing... I did a volunteering shift at Oxford City Farm this morning and came back with beautiful big globe artichokes. Mine are tiny and both plants are still sticky from aphid honeydew. It's been very wet this week so I'm hoping they'll recover and from experience the autumn harvests are generally better!
