Flame Iris

The terrible storm expected last night stayed to our north. Other than a few sprinkles, we were unaffected. Hubby had many errands to run today, more, it turned out, than he had time to get to. He dropped me off to get my van. He returned the camper, cleaned it and delivered Momma’s meds. Some groceries for the trip are only available at the Commissary so he stopped by there when he got my meds. He came home long enough to eat lunch. Next tasks were to drop the refuse off at the convenience center and pick up Mancil for his doctor appointment. My day was as busy. I was able to plant all but two of my annuals and cleaned up the mess. Found my blip. These Iris are in bloom in several flower gardens. They sure perk up our property this time of year. I think they have more than one local name. Boy are they prolific! I weeded the garden; everything is growing beautifully. My bags are packed, the cookies are baked, the kitchen is cleaned and the perishable food is gathered in one area for easy packing. Brooklyn received good news: she should be able to get back in the goal in two weeks. Hubby just booked our next camping trip for August. We snagged the same campsite we had last year. Should be another great time. I hope you have wonderful activities planned for your summer. No news from Ukraine. I hope those folks all got out of Mariupol. We got an alert that COVID cases are on the rise in our area. May be a good time to head out. Stay safe. “Flowers are the music of the ground from earth’s lips spoken without sound.” – Edwin Curran
