RIP Friend
Weather-wise, this Spring has been glorious. Sunny but not overly warm. We were up in time to do a bit of cleaning before leaving for Tom’s visitation/funeral. Hubby was an honor guard along with several of our local Fourth Degree Knights. We first met Tom and his family when I lived in the northern part of our county. We all attended this beautiful church, dedicated to Mary, as the Immaculate Conception. Hubby and I were married here so it holds a special place in our hearts. We have maintained close friendships with many of the parishioners over the years. The photo only depicts the center aisle view. The service was quite moving; Tom dedicated his life to serving God by helping others, his family, parish, KofC brothers and community. As a young man, he served his country while in the Navy. His passing was totally unexpected but Father T. noted that he was not surprised Tom was called home on the Feast of the Ascension. We visited with his family and our friends at the repast. Afterwards, we stopped at the Amish greenhouse (again) to get a few perennials that we will plant later. Like Tom, we should strive to live our lives, focusing on preparing for our next chapter. We all long to hear “Welcome, good and faithful servant.” Thanks for visiting and leaving stars and comments.
