The reason why we are here

Back blip

This trip is primarily to attend the Worcester Royal Infirmary Nurses League reunion. We have missed the last two years due to Covid, so our 70th anniversary due last year was celebrated today. We are an ageing population and our numbers are dropping, but we managed to gather together 59 members. 

We are at the old hospital which is now part of Worcester Uni.
Lunch was delicious, the company good, the AGM was a bit of a shambles and the raffle a farce. 

We weren’t sure if this would be our last meeting as recruiting new committee members has been difficult. I’m still not sure we will survive as the latest members only joined the league this year, haven’t a clue, but were recruited by our new chair. 

Our magazine editor has taken on the responsibility for several roles and it’s thanks to her that today went ahead. She was presented with flowers with gratitude from everyone. 

B was invited to attend with me as we have handed over the responsibility for the membership and website. Quite who is accepting the roles is uncertain. We were given a rose bush and a pretty embroidered card to say thanks.
