sedate and flamboyant

Anyone else wake up and check the news to see if Putin had used nuclear weapons to celebrate Victory Day?

Just me?

Some sedate but lovely white bleeding hearts and a totally flamboyant tiny wildflower on a wall nearby.

I think they finished fixing the electrical pole today. Eventually they will remove the gigantic tree pieces and we can go back into the park. 

My tree comes tomorrow!!! It was coming Wednesday but now it is coming tomorrow. 

This morning I got to see the whole garden in the shade except for the leaves of Fireglow reaching above the shade and in the sun. Then this afternoon the sun shone through the leaves and they glowed. The tree has already grown up and toward the wall, following the sun.

Two Russian journalists working for a popular pro-Kremlin website filled it with anti-war articles on Monday morning. (!!!!!) They called him a  “pitiful paranoid dictator.” Titles of the articles included “Vladimir Putin lied about Russia’s plans in Ukraine”, “The Russian army turned out to be an army of thieves and looters” and “Russia abandons the dead bodies of its troops in Ukraine.” (!!!) The Rutube video platform was taken down by pro-Ukrainian hackers on Sunday night. (The Guardian)


Local television menus were hacked with program descriptions on smart TVs replaced by a message reading: “The blood of thousands of Ukrainians and hundreds of murdered children is on your hands. TV and the authorities are lying. No to war.” (The Guardian)


Britain said it would support any country brave enough to provide Russian-built jet fighters to Ukraine AND would lend airpower to make up for any resulting shortfall.  


The US is lifting tariffs on Ukrainian steel for one year. Ukraine is not a major supplier of US steel, but steel is a big employer in Ukraine. 

Justin Trudeau visited Ukraine on Sunday. He said Patron was a good dog even if he did bark at him. Today I watched the video of Patron getting his medal. He really did bark at Trudeau.
