My photographer tour guide in Vietnam asked why everybody was celebrating Mother’s Day – today is not their Mother’s Day! Well, they like their holidays and I am in favor of celebrating every holiday.
 
This is the day we all post something so sappy, so sugary, so sweet, we give everyone diabetes.
 
Happy Mother’s Day to every nurturer, to mothers and parental substitutes, to everyone kind to children – and adult inner children. Happy Mother’s Day to every mother who did her best even though it was incredibly difficult. Hugs and love to everyone who mothered anyone, here or gone, their own or someone else’s, and to everyone who helped mothers:  teachers, neighbors, grandmothers, aunts, brothers, and babysitters. Hugs and love to everyone who needed more mothering than they got or miss their mother now.
