Diary of an Edinburgher

By LadyMarchmont

I went shopping!

JR had her gym and torture session this morning. She was rather shocked as the body scan readings had gone haywire! She reckons this is due to the lazy diet of late - while on our wee holiday, we just lived on scones, which (she claims) are not really nutritious. Oh, and we had a pub fish’n’chip meal. That’s healthy, surely… also, over the weekend, there has been some alcohol…

So, it’s back to healthy living, with lots of protein. Till we go on our next (alcohol based) holiday…

So I took Archie round the block and then left him with his bone while I went off my much anticipated NHS physio appointment. The charming Stephen spent an hour with me, pushing and pulling my legs. He declared that I should cut back on walking, in order to concentrate on strengthening my core, my back, my glutes. Then to build up again to longer walks. Suits me!

So he’s given me several exercises to do three times a day, and he’ll see me again in four weeks. I’m feeling quite a wee bit positive…

Yesterday, Christina showed me her new iPhone 13. One new trick is that it can identify a flower. I’ve always wanted this, but the flower ID app costs a monthly fee, so I’ve never bothered. So it didn’t need much to tip me over into actually buying it. The camera has been much improved too, and I look forward to finding out the other improvements.

So I made a shopping appointment at the Apple Store and went down there in the afternoon. A nice young woman helped me set up the new phone - it’s easy, but I always like them to do it.

Anyway, what else do you do on a dreich Monday afternoon?

JR took Archie a big walk in the afternoon.

EDIT: The body scan went haywire - the graphs plunging down alarmingly, because of alcohol in the body. So, the answer is - don’t drink before the scan. Or change the day of the scan - Monday not ideal for weekend imbibers.  But scones are good for you.
