Along the canal

A great canal walk with A and P from Bowling back to the West End with a break in Clydebank so A could get new light weight walking poles from Go Outdoors. We counted at least 9 nesting swans, a moorhen sitting on her nest and a gorgeous very healthy looking fox sunbathing on a rubbish pile on the opposite bank.
I weighted my backpack down with library books and was pleased at how it performed, no aches anywhere, and I had to carry it an extra couple of miles because the Hillhead library was closed. A very good design.
Evening catch up with my kind neighbour who cautioned me to make sure I remove the bath plug; apparently one drip can cause a watery disaster in 24 hours. I will add that to my list of things to worry about. I told him about the chap in the park who said he had seen a green woodpecker, we both agree it must have been an errant parakeet.
