Filled With the Spirit

Hubby was up before 6:00 am. He had an appointment at the camper dealer for a hot water heater repair. It is a 1.5 hour one way drive. The thermostat was faulty so they replaced it. While he was gone, I picked up my mother, took her to the cemetery where my father is buried so we could ensure his headstone had finally been set in place properly. It had. We attended Mr. Holden’s funeral which included a wonderful tribute by the pastor and two of his sons. Apparently, he made some of the beautiful furniture at that church. My BIL was a pall bearer. Momma had an appointment with the podiatrist next. We met hubby at home, rested for about an hour and headed to the restaurant where my photo was taken. Parker and Mackenzie’s families met for a pre-Confirmation dinner. Murphy’s Law took over. We had to be at church so we had 90 minutes to get fed. There was a minor fire in the kitchen; service came to a complete stop when the fire department arrived. When our meals finally were ready, we had 15 minutes to eat. The grands’ Confirmation ceremony was so reverent. The bishop was amazing in his delivery and prayer over each candidate. As Parker’s sponsor, I was proud of his ability to answer more than one of the Bishop’s questions. My sister and BIL were so kind to offer to carry our mother home. After being on the road all day, hubby and I were beat. Thanks for dropping by. The bishop stressed the importance for each of us to pray for an end of the war and protection for those affected. Be safe. “The Spirit-filled life is not a special, deluxe edition of Christianity. It is part and parcel of the total plan of God for His people.” - A. W. Tozer
