Youlgreave Youth Hostel

Penulimate day of our break. A touch damp and misty with the forecast of heavy rain later, but it is appreciably warmer. We chose to stay sheltered and walk down Lathkill Dale national nature reserve and round by Bradford Dale to complete the circuit.

Not a great day for pictures although the rain held off and the sun came out periodically for a few brief moments. Heard my 1st Chiffchaff of the year also.

Youlgreave YH is based in the old CO-OP building in the village and retains some of the old fixtures and fittings. The village teashop was shut! We did buy a nice piece of local beef for our Sunday Roast. 21 day matured so it should have a good flavour.

Passed a whole load of young people doing their D of E expeditions on our route today. I know that I have a wealth of map reading and navigation experience but it is very hard to get lost in the Peak District as the paths are so well marked and yet some of the groups we passed contrived to follow the wrong paths.

Bacon and pasta for tea.

PS: the beef roasted lovely
