I suspect I'll need to ask for an extension to my current assignment, but sometimes you have to prioritise you and those you love.
A trip out to meet one of our oldest friends today, he's had a torrid time the last few months, was lovely to hear him laugh today and to meet his two little French bulldog puppies. They're 4 months going on 40 years old lol.

We arrived early and had a wander up Stickle Ghyll. Collected our oddest litter of the year so far, a windbreak (yep the sort of thing you take to the beach) abandoned at approx 500m asl.
We were glad we did as on the way down the sky looked epic (see extra) but we still managed to have lunch outdoors and then, as it got nicer and nicer, a walk in the valley with the puppies.
