St Anne's Hospital, part of the hospital chapel, one of five in Ripon. The date it was founded is unknown but it’s on "Annesgate", known as such since 1228. The earliest reference to the Hospital itself is in 1438, but from the architectural evidence it is much older. It was used to house and support 8 poor widows.
And today we took possession of allotment number 2 … next door to ours, overgrown, strewn with window frames & wood (yipeee) and in need of a lot of digging. Here goes …
