Brooklyn bridge
Today Alex and I walked across the Brooklyn Bridge into Manhattan. The effect was surreal and brooding...dark clouds, brewing on the horizon. New York huge and imposing in the background. We took in the view and could see mid town get engulfed in the storm as it advanced on us. Getting off on the other side just as the clouds burst and taking shelter.
On to Chinatown, stopping in for fried dumplings and fun mein. Perusing through SoHo, on a mission to find a Banksy tagged wall, but getting distracted by the most amazing photography bookstore and gallery where I geeked out too long before finally finding our way back to Brooklyn for an early night.
I took this shot over the bridge. An awesome view of the city. The traffic and swerving taxis like angry bees fleeing the coming storm...
