Wandering round the MET

We took the subway into midtown this morning. Wandering from the consumer chaos of times square, meandering through central park on our way to the MET, the Metropolitan Museum of Art. I looooveee art museums! I could spend days wandering through them, and the MET is truly world class. Michelangelo to Picasso. Egyptian hieroglyphics to Andy Warhol.

Since we only had a couple hours we decided on the Roman and Greek gallery and then Modern and Classical art and photography upstairs. Alex used to be a classics major in college, so he was loving the Greek and Roman exhibit. My own personal guide. His eyes were shining like a kid in a candy store. It was great.

We made our way to Soho later and checked out an amazing music venue. A no name club. Music for musicians. Low light in a small room, gathered round listening to a group coursing away on cellos and violin strings late into the night. Another excellent day in New York.

I took this shot in the MET. A bust of Hercules, shadowy and brooding...
