WITH A SONG IN MY HEART

By lizzie_birkett

Jam Session…

…at The Black Horse. I wasn’t going to go as I wanted to start decorating the hall and stairs but then Amy messaged me to ask if I would be at the pub as she wanted to bring little Evelyn for a sing song. So I got out of my work togs, jumped in the shower and made myself look presentable.
I’m glad I went as Evelyn is such a delight, she played my ukulele the whole time and sang her wee heart out.
I left Frank there and was home before 10pm.
My poem didn’t get finished so it will be tomorrow.

We went into Skipton this morning as I found some wallpaper on line at The Range so I thought we could just drive there and buy it in the shop - but of course they didn’t have it nor did they have the paint I wanted Grrrrr!
In the end we went to the local independent DIY store - Merritt and Fryer and I bought the paint Dulux daffodil white, a long pole the different paint rollers screw onto so I won’t need to use a ladder, sponge sanding blocks, and a new Harris paint brush. When we were in that shop Frank was looking around at other stuff. I picked up the little colour swatch card and staring down at it whilst walking up to who I thought was Frank I held it out to him and said - ‘I’m getting this colour’.
‘Very nice’ said a voice I didn’t recognise. I looked up and saw it was someone else’s husband! His wife and the man behind the counter had a right good laugh.
I ended up ordering the wallpaper on line.
In case you’re wondering, the decorating is my job as Frank is too slapdash at it for my liking! He misses bits or puts too much paint on so it runs and ends up with dried drips. I told him he should go down to the boat while I do it so he doesn’t get in my way!
So that’s my work cut out for the weekend.

I’m going to sleep now.
Hope you had a good day reader.
Goodnight and thanks for all the comments, stars and hearts ;-)X
