Perfect end to a productive day. Woke up late, jet lagged, after 24 plus hours of traveling, then got busy with our day. First order, the obligatory due cappuccini e due cornetti at the corner Bar Elisa. Then we assembled our bikes, purchased and installed our Italian SIM cards in our phones, ate piadini kebab from Ali Baba’s for lunch (sign says Muslim run business), fixed M’s bike at the Chinese-owned bike shop, biked outside the walls and filled our panniers with groceries from Esselunga, then dinner at Stravinsky’s - a Russian-Ukrainian owned picolo restaurante (4 tiny tables). Mike shared his dessert of Pear poached in Red wine, crumbled chocolate biscotti, crema, chocolate sauce and orange zest. It was incredible. A good day to support immigranti in Italia.
