I promised Brodie B a blip of the eelskin briefcase but who could resist the acres of colourful lycra and very fit bods, to say nothing of highly priced bikes, that gathered in our little village today.

Stage 3 of the Tour de Perth bike race, which is part of the National Criterium Series, travelling 140km around the hills with winding roads, sharp corners and a breath catching last climb up the ZigZag, the old railway route from wood cutting days.
160 competitors jostled for position at the start (which confusingly was moved from outside the library to outside the pub) and eventually took off, followed by a huge posse of support cars, vans and motorbikes.
A well watered, portly tosser staggered barefoot from the pub's beer garden and started yelling about tight shorts and shaved legs.
He was promptly told to 'F*** Off' and sloped back the bar.
