The 12 km walk along the coast between Gullane and North Berwick is quite varied first through sand dunes and woods then several isolated beaches with large areas of sand along which it was possible to walk today as the tide was low. Some low cliffs are about half way along before the beach at Yellowcraigs and finally today for a change we went along the John Muir Way into North Berwick passing some magnificent huge houses. It was much shorter on the bus back to the car at Gullane
It is impossible to walk below the cliffs at high tide and the only way up was to pull oneself up a slippery slope using two ropes. About a month ago a ramp had been installed making it easy now so we decided to try it. The view is from near the top of the ramp overlooking the sea at low tide and in the extra the last two pictures show S last September pulling himself up by the rope.
