Bean tunnel finally up
Today was another busy day - I got up at the crack of dawn to finish and submit my end of term reports and was at the City Farm from 9 to 2 co-leading the Friday drop-in session. It was a great session and we achieved a lot: bramble hacking, sheet mulching, path mulching with woodchips, general weeding, propagating blackcurrant, grafting apple cuttings, harvesting sprouting broccoli/Brussels sprouts/mizuna etc. The atmosphere was buzzing except when Peter the rabbit tried to escape! Luckily we got him back in his enclosure.
In the afternoon I did a couple of hours of freelance work and admin and then rushed to the plot before it got dark to make progress with various things. After many attempts to put up the bean tunnel - which all failed because of the elements - I was glad to finally get good weather for it...
There are still bits and bobs to finish but it's fantastic that the main structure is up!
