First Wednesday...
...is traditionally the day for the boat to be deployed, in order to reach water bound litter. Actually they found that, although the swans weren't around to be disturbed, they couldn't get close enough, but one of the shore-based crew did a sterling job with the long-handled nippers. A passing cyclist was intrigued. Saw the swans later cruising about with what may have been an approving look. Or not - hard to tell with swans.
I was happily interrupted in my duties when Dave appeared, to tell me he'd just heard that he'd got the job! Hurray! (That's his old job on Inchcolm, that he just had to go through the full application process for, with the interview yesterday). Anyway, he's one very happy Fifer!
