Getting ready

I spent most of the morning reading the paper and watching the magpies exploring different nesting possibilities. There looks to be a perfect one in direct sight from the sofa which they have chosen to ignore.
The railway foxes have been nesting too, this is their hideout and the rubble and new soil is very recent. I reckon by Easter the incautious cubs will start to poke their heads out of the den while the adults are on a hunting trip. I looked for cat biscuits in Morrisons, there seemed to be a bewildering array of “dry food” which I take to include biscuits.
Still no sight of the kingfisher/s after the recent high water levels.
