Just before the disco

I met Islay dog and family about to enter Pollok Park as I was making for St Margaret’s. Very tempting to change plans and join them, I didn’t. CM, whose day job is Prof of Church History at Glasgow university, was preaching and I was keen to hear to her take on things. A sermon of two interconnected halves, the first on the nature of Putin’s “Russianness” and the Ukrainian struggle to  break away from the Russian orthodox church which finally happened in 2019. And the second half ( it’s the Transfiguration today and Peter wanted to build a shelter) on the human desire to claim sacred space, Kyiv in these times. Terrifying, but erudite.
Reconnected with family later in the afternoon for a late Sunday lunch. The blip was a taken in between roasted lemony garlic chicken and lemon pudding (Charlie Brigham, I didn’t let on) with full fat Greek fat Yoghurt.
It turns out that Liv has progressed from Baby Shark to Status Quo, I couldn’t possibly comment.
