Grey Heron

There was no sign of the young one when I arrived at the loch. I wandered half way round and made my way back. She suddenly appeared from somewhere and landed next to the fence. Because of the flooding at the edge of the loch (the drainage work appears to have been a failure) I could not get very close. It was almost like she knew this as she flew over the fence and landed a lot closer. I started to feed her when she flew off to the wooded area calling as she flew. I returned after lunch and she wandered over from the spot she had caught the rat at yesterday and got the rest of her fish.
