Grey Heron

It was VERY windy when I went up to the loch this morning and there was no sign of the young one. I think she watches for me from a tree and cannot do that when it is windy. When I went back later I saw her trying to eat something. On closer inspection I saw it was a Rat, which I assume she had just killed!  She manipulated it round with her beak and swallowed it. She then made her way closer to me to get her fish which she also ate. I remember when all she could catch were minnows, she has moved on some since then!
