Early into the office and a day mainly devoted (finally) to reading and commenting on promotions cases. Interrupted by a few calls and listening in to a meeting through the afternoon but otherwise was good to focus on them. Had an introductory meeting online with my successor which went well, and she’ll be over to visit soon so that will be good.
Really sore across my shoulders and neck….no idea why (different pillows? carrying shopping?) but made it hard to find a comfortable position to sit and type.
Home and then a night at book group. Only five of us this evening, and not many had enjoyed Second Place by Rachel Cusk but that didn’t stop us chatting on about virtual reality, house renovations, interviews, skiing, recipe books (thanks to you, Munroist!) and Istanbul amongst other things as we munched our way through a delicious Ottolenghi dinner of vegetarian paella and then apple galette with caramel sauce….gorgeous. I was going to blip the paella but my photo wasn’t as good as hazelh's, so you have Paisley who’d had a nice holiday weekend but was very pleased to see us all again and be home.
Chatted to S&L and A&N when I got home…S is planning to move up here to share a flat with little brother Ad!
