On the last leg of the last walk

Another stunning day in the Dolomites. Impossibly blue skies, brilliant sunshine and cold, still air. It was -18c at the top station of the Santa Croce lift.

This was out third time up at this location, over 6000 feet in altitude where there is a Refugio and a church in a very isolated position.

With a slight deviation we followed the same walk as on Monday, we love it so much, calling in at the Refugio Andre for lunch and a refreshing drink.

Then is was back down the trail to Pedraces, tea and cake, packing and the final evening meal. We leave for the airport at 6.15am in the morning.
